Visiting with Gov. Howard Dean and Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak.
Erin, G and I attended a fundraiser for Gov. Dean last night. G was sporting his "I drool for Dean" bib. This morning Graham and Dr. Dean got their picture in the StarTribune! Unfortunately they got G's name wrong. You might think, "Of course they did, Krewinghaus is a tough name." However, they spelled his last name correctly and spelled his first name "Grant", which is a little silly given that I saw the reporter write down G's actual name. Anyway, it was a really fun event, even for the baby.
Here is how Erin described it:
David was shy and didn't want to push our way forward. I thought "For
goodness gracious, the Governor should see this baby who has been to so
many campaign meetings, watched about 10,000 debates (he isn't that
interested in them), and missed his daddy some evenings when Daddy was
working his heart out for Dean." So I pushed my way forward as far as I
could. When it became clear that I couldn't get right up there, I passed
Graham forward, overhead -- David was stunned I was doing it -- and
eventually he got to the front. Graham, Howard, and RT (our terrific
mayor) smiled at each other for about 2 minutes and then Graham started
crying and I retrieved him. Actually, Dean didn't know whose baby he was
so he just held the crying baby for a little while until I said "He's
mine! I'll take him back!" |
