Sorry for the posting delay. Leah was gallivanting around
Austin on her birthday.
You can tell that she's a slender girl from her photo. Today
she went to the doctor for her check-up, and we learned that
she's 95th percentile for height and 25th percentile for weight.
Her head circumference is 75th percentile -- chock full of brains!
"Ta-dah!"
Leah has really been working on this rolling thing the past couple of days.
Tuesday night she added back-to-front rolls to her repertoire. Then
Wednesday morning she learned to travel by pairing her front-to-backs
with her back-to-fronts. She made good progress across the family room
before becoming acquainted with the tile floor. (She's fine, and yes, her
parents will be padding the floor.)
Leah has had a rough week going down for her afternoon nap,
so we've been using the sling to calm her down. It works
like a charm.
Leah, Laura, and Lois went clothes shopping yesterday, but only one
of the three got anything. Here Leah is sharing her success with Dad.
An astronaut, a trapeze artist, a sky diver? Maybe all three.
Leah is developing a real appreciation for her toys.
She actually grabs them and looks at them awhile
before she tries to eat them.
Several weeks ago Leah decided that her thumbs were
super special. Now it's time to go public. May I
present, THE LEFT THUMB.
(She likes them so much that she often tries to suck
one while nursing. It can be a bit messy.)
Leah had her playgroup over to celebrate Valentine's Day.
Here we have (from L to R) David, Alex, Leah, and Ryan.
Leah has a new high chair. She's not going to be eating
in it anytime soon, but we thought she might like sitting
with us during our meals. I think she liked the new
perspective.
Getting some love from Grandma K.
(I promise her eyes are this wide a good portion of the time.
It's not just me flashing cruelly in her face.)
"I can't believe Mommy left my hair like this again.
I'll try and be a good sport, but one of these days . . ."
No, the Tigers are not in the Superbowl this year, but
Leah is cheering for them anyway. Here she is doing
her end-zone dance. -- Peter
I can't help it. I just love her in a hooded towel.
This one also features our lovely pink bathroom tile.
Leah is enjoying her baths more and more. Now she babbles through
them while chewing on her hand.
