We have a digital bathroom scale. Leah knows this.
We weigh Mommy. Then we weigh Mommy holding Leah. Subtract . . .
Sometimes when I put Leah down she embarks on a mission. She
scoots from the kitchen, through the living room, into the hall,
and makes a tight corner into the bathroom. She climbs right onto
the scale. She likes the moving red lights.
Leah was a big hit with Great Aunt Lisa and Great Uncle Peter.
The feeling was clearly mutual.
Leah had started to sit a little bit for Peter, but she
and I were still having trouble.
Then Mommy discovered the true power of Super Grover!
Leah thought Aunt Heather's water bottle was tasty.
But then Aunt Heather needed it back, and . . .
Enjoying the direct sunlight in Gramma and Grampa's kitchen.
Sunlight AND a copper mold -- super fun!
Here's a family photo from Uncle Caleb and Aunt Heather's
beautiful wedding. Leah got to wear her first hair bow
for the occasion.
Leah got a new toy. She LOVES it!
She quickly learned to open the door and crawl through.
Here she's using her plastic house key on her plastic doorknob.
I left work a year ago, but I still give Leah Staples product
to play with. That's loyalty.
Sometimes Mommy is a little slow with the food.
When Mommy tried to capture the chomping above Leah happily
posed for the camera. (I think she looks like me in this one.)
I guess her pants were slowing her down. She scooted
right out of them.
We ordered Leah's first blocks on-line, and they weren't what
we expected. I was a little disappointed. Leah didn't seem to mind.
Leah enjoys playing with the door to her room, but
occasionally she get upsets when she traps herself in.
Mommy's solution did not work out the way she intended.
I install the first cabinet lock, and literally within the hour she has
scooted herself right to it!
I don't know if mere buttons will keep her out.
In unrelated news, Leah pointed last night. Peter was reading her
bed time story, and she pointed at the boat, the elephant, etc. It
was a proud moment.
I love Leah's kisses, but boy, they can be painful.
And they're almost always wet.
She's starting to show a slight interest in sitting -- very slight.
Leah is having more fun with her meals these days.
She opens her mouth and then closes it again right
as the spoon gets there. She enjoys the results.
