We interrupt our long queue of pictures for illness.
Leah has strep, and she feels lousy. Grandma's
cuddles provided some much needed relief yesterday.
Then a comfy chair, a footrest, and Elmo did the trick (briefly).
Leah seems to be establishing a tradition of helping Gramma organize
her purse. Lucky Gramma.
Leah loves the BIG slides.
Enjoying her first motorcycle ride with Grampa's help.
A focused chicken rider.
This is the first month that I forgot about Leah's birthday, so
her "portrait" is more casual than usual. I found her happily
playing with the toilet paper in her citrus-stained t-shirt. I handed
her the bunny, and here you go.
We had a fantastic visit from Gramma and Grampa this week.
Here we're all recovering from a playground outing.
We have a magnetic alphabet on our fridge. Every
day Leah pulls off the H, the K, and the X, and plays
with them. It's always those 3 letters and never any
others. At night we put them back on the fridge, and
the cycle starts again in the morning.
We had a lovely playdate at Alex's house last week.
Leah was thrilled to play with his older sister's toys.
Who would have guessed that my daughter would like
dolls?
Leah shares her cereal bar with Elmo.
On a separate occasion Leah spent more than an hour
trying to strap Elmo into the highchair.
Last weekend we headed to the Livestock show with Rowena and Caroline.
We saw some goats. . .
. . . posed with some pigs . . .
. . . and admired some chickens.
Apparently his chicken dance costume needed some touchups.
Checking the finished product.
Leah is a bit picky when it comes to food, but we've had
some recent success with spicier fare. Leah was eating
her usual strawberry soy yogurt when she decided to steal
Mommy's lunch, a Southwestern tortilla (with jalapenos
and chili powder) filled with cajun turkey. Mommy had to
make a new one for herself because Leah ate the whole
thing, jalapeno bits and all.
Last Friday was Go Texan Day, so Leah and I went to her school to
see one of the trail rides. (Please note Leah's festive red bandana belt.)
Leah liked the horses, but she seemed content to watch from
the safety of the buggy.
