More Mature Egg Dyer

032308_EggDyeingLipBlog.jpg
This was a much more serious process this year than it was last year.

I feel like this is a preview of what she'll look like as an adult.

Natural Curl

031408_CurlsSmileBlog.jpg
Last weekened we got Leah's haircut. Her "stylist" suggested
that we might want to embrace her natural curl instead of
thinking of her hair as straight (and thereby brushing it into a stringy
mess). So, here is Leah's new, curly look. At her parent-teacher
conference this morning they actually asked me if I'd gotten her a
perm. Do people actually do that to 3 year olds? Crazy.

Too New Fangled

021808_BumboBlog.jpg
Yes, Zoe is smiling. But, she isn't really a fan of
her Bumbo chair. This is an accessory that was just
gaining popularity when Leah was little. Apparently,
our girls like to arch their backs and throw themselves
out of the chair. Chubbier thighs might be held in
place by the Bumbo, but not scrawny ones.

A New Cousin and Stats

021808_SemiSwaddleBlog.jpg

Zoe is pleased to announce the arrival of her new cousin, Noah! His blog is here.

We finally made it to Zoe's 4 month check-up (having rescheduled because
of the flu). She is greater than 95th percentile for height, between 10-25th
percentile for weight, and 75th percentile for head circumference. Yes, we
produce lanky girls, but it makes you wonder if maybe they need to revise
their growth charts. I feel like 30% of the kids I know are off the chart for
height. And from what I remember about percentiles . . .

Budding Astronomer

021008_PaintingPlanetsBlog.jpg
Peter and Leah painted all of the planets.

021008_SolarSystemBlog.jpg
Here is their finished product (which now lives on my formal dining room table).

030308_SolarSystemDrawingBlog.jpg
Here is her 2-D version. (She has learned to write her name!)
The accompanying song for all things solar system:

Sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars
Hanging out with all the stars
Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus too
Orbiting around with nothing else to do
Here comes Neptune and NOT Pluto
These are all the planets we know.

Loves Her Swaddle

020908_SwaddleSmileBlog.jpg
Zoe gives me the biggest grin every night when
I swaddle her for bed. I wonder how we'll ever
eliminate it from her bedtime routine.
