Leah tries to defend her stepstool against the little marauder.
Leah made the birthday cut-off for ice skating lessons by 6 days.
She was unphased by the older kids around her.
Quick recovery!
Enjoying herself.
Sometime in the last few months Zoe's eyes turned from
blue to green. I was on the fence about their color until
last week when the pediatrician's nurse commented
on her beautiful green eyes. I think that makes it official.
And for the record, we were at the pediatrician for her
second set of double ear infections in a month.
Leah's gang playing with the new castle and princesses.
Leah asked for her 4th birthday party to be about the solar system.
We were excited about her selection; we were just so happy that she
didn't ask for a princess party. Leah and I both like to bake, so we built
the solar system out of cake and frosting (and mini-marshmallows).
Some drama while singing, "Happy birthday!"
She recovered quickly to blow out her candles.
Sharing Saturn, Venus, and the sun with her friends.
Concentrating on their work.

Leah proudly carried the earth around the sun four times.
Peter videotaped and Zoe snacked from the bjorn.
Zoe thought it was fabulous to be offered cake several
days in a row. She made the most of the opportunity.
Enjoying Zingers with her guests.
Opening presents.
Genuinely surprised to find a bouncer in her basement.
The requested "crown and scepter" cake. (We saved the homemade
masterwork for the kid party. Pictures to come.)
We temporarily interrupt the interminable birthday postings for a Halloween
update. Last night was a huge success. We met up with neighborhood
familes and trick-or-treated for hours. Leah loved it, and Zoe enjoyed
watching from the stroller.
The happy flower at 5:30 pm.
A very excited monarch.
A tired flower at 8 pm. One of the neighbors put his
lightsaber in our stroller for safekeeping. He didn't
realize that a sneaky flower would adopt it as her own.
