Ringing in the New Year at a wonderful Noon Year's Eve ball.
Leah loves the Weather Channel (apparently it skips
a generation). She was super-excited to do the weather
report while we were at the Children's Museum with Laura,
Dave, and Nathan.
Leah put on quite the performance while Zoe unplugged
the microphone.
Cute sisters.
Then Leah reaches through the highchair to hit Zoe on the head.
There are few things that warm my heart as much as my husband
and daughter baking my birthday cake together.
I love this picture! Leah asked us to pose as Peter was carrying
in my birtday cake. LOVE IT!
Zoe is a huge fan of cranberry sauce.
Leah and Grammie are huge fans of each other.
Putting on quite the show.
Zoe as an attentive audience member.
Loving it! (Totally unflattering, but she was focused on her dancing.)
Santa wrote back!
Leah tried to up Zoe's excitement level.
Checking out the new keyboard.
Of course they liked the other's present more.
Only Uncle Caleb had the patience to help Leah decorate her sheet
of the Johnson family Christmas cookies. We ended up baking a
sheet of colored sugar with a few cookies buried underneath. Leah
thought the whole process and Uncle Caleb were fabulous.
The women of the Johnson family decided to brave the Nutcracker in a
snowstorm with a 4 year old. It was a success! We got there and back
safely, it wasn't as boring or long as I remembered, and Leah LOVED it.
She's been performing her own version on the basement stage. (She
dances, she assembles scenery and props, and she emotes all over the
place. I can definitely see a future for her in the performing arts. Anyway,
this is my favorite picture of us as we're heading out. I acknowledge that
I'm hardly in it, so I've included a second not-as-good one too.
