A new camera leads to an exploration of its (and my) close-up
capabilities.
Zoe can swim the width of the pool these days, but she chooses not to.
Hence, the life jacket.
Playing Monster with Daddy
We were overwhelmed with fun at the Children's Museum.
(Then we were overwhelmed by the resulting stomach bug
a few days later. IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME WE GO!)
Loving the puppets.
Harvesting the corn.
Reporting the news.
Leah was more of a "producer."
Banking.
We headed back to Little Amerrika with a bunch of friends.
Everyone had a great time.
The girls were so nicely contained in this ride.
Leah loves all things "Olden Day" right now, so we
headed to Old World Wisconsin for Laura Ingalls
Wilder Days. We did all sorts of "olden day" things,
including the laundry seen above. (Now Leah is
obsessed with the Little House on the Prairie books
which I consider to be an extra bonus.)
Hand cranking ice cream.
Rolling hoops.
Tossing a hoop with sticks.
Churning butter.
Washing butter.
Pumping water.
Studying with her slate and reader.
Fishing close to home.
The highlight was fishing with leaches instead of worms.
The active little critters try to climb out of the cup when you take
the lid off. Mommy was totally disgusted, but the girls thought
it was fantastic.
Getting started on the lakefront.
Taking a photo break in front of the Milwaukee Art Museum.
One of many attempts for a family photo.
It's a lot harder and hotter than it looks.
Going for a ride on an antique electric train.
Going for ice cream at the antique ice cream parlor.
We even got to play the juke box. Mommy selected,
Big Girls Don't Cry.
Zoe waiting to go into her first official ballet class
(It's official because it's taught by someone other
than Leah). I think she's hooked.
Picnic at the park with friends followed by custard.
A good day.
Still working on her cone skills.
Leah lost a tooth on July 5th. Then she lost
2 more on July 7th. She has now lost all of the
front eight. Too bad that only made room for
4 adult teeth.
This is moments before
she pulled out her "fang." Her mouth is so
crowded that this one had been pushed forward
before it even got loose. It's been sticking out
of her lips for a few months now.
Zoe waiting somewhat patiently for her first fireworks.
You've got to love a small town parade where they
throw popsicles and candy at the kids!
Scared of and thrilled by the giant diner chicken.
Zoe created Santer, the white-nosed reindeer, with a marble
and some oak leaves. Santer stuck around for quite some time.
